Group will address Methamphetamine, other drug abuse

Anti-Drug

Washington, Apr 27, 2007 -

U.S. Congressman Phil Gingrey, M.D. this week joined the Congressional Caucus on Drug Policy, a bipartisan group offering solutions that address drug abuse in our communities.

“Methamphetamine and other drugs have a dire impact on our communities,” said Gingrey.  “This new caucus will focus on four areas to reduce drug use: prevention, treatment, supply reduction and law enforcement. The fight against drugs must be a community-wide effort.  One of my most important roles as a Member of Congress is to ensure our local law enforcement officials and healthcare workers have the tools they need to fight this epidemic of abuse.”

The Congressional Caucus on Drug Policy is a bipartisan caucus working closely with the Office of National Drug Control Policy at the White House to develop effective tools to combat drug abuse.  Gingrey is also a member of the Anti-Meth Caucus and the Law Enforcement Caucus.
