Congressman Phil Gingrey Urges Senate to Reconsider ‘Cut, Cap and Balance’

Congressman Phil Gingrey (GA-11) today issued the following statement after Senate Democrats voted to table the Cut, Cap and Balance Act:

“I am shocked and disappointed that my Democratic colleagues in the Senate chose to abandon this historic legislation that would force Washington to practice fiscal responsibility, while avoiding a default. When American families and small businesses are hurting, Senator Reid still refuses to believe that the Federal government should do the same.”

“House Republicans have offered a responsible plan to attack our deficit threefold and I urge President Obama and my colleagues in the Senate to reconsider the Cut, Cap and Balance plan.”
