Rep. Phil Gingrey, M.D., responded to Georgia Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens’ announcement that premiums could increase up to 198 percent next year as a result of Obamacare:

Because of this ‘train wreck’ of a law, Georgia is the latest state to warn of enormous spikes in the cost of health care premiums. Despite President Obama’s reassurances that his law would lower costs, we continue to see just the opposite. Georgians, like the rest of Americans, cannot afford Obamacare, plain and simple. With the implementation deadlines looming over us, the need for full repeal of this disastrous law grows increasingly urgent.

Insurance exchange submissions are due to Health and Human Services Secretary Sebelius by July 31.
