Gingrey votes to delay Obamacare, prevent government shutdown
Rep. Phil Gingrey, M.D., today voted to delay Obamacare for one year and to repeal the medical device tax, which has forced companies to lay-off or outsource thousands of American jobs and life-saving research overseas. The continuing resolution also prevents a government shutdown on October 1.
“Delaying Obamacare for one year is the first step towards ensuring it’s permanently delayed,” Gingrey said. “A majority of Americans think Obamacare will make health care in our country worse, and they’re right. House Republicans are listening to the American people, and I urge Harry Reid and Senate Democrats to do the same. It’s now up to them to prevent a government shutdown.”
Gingrey will also support a bill to ensure the military would get paid in the event of a government shutdown.
