In light of the Obama administration’s disclosure of health insurance marketplace enrollment numbers yesterday, Rep. Phil Gingrey, M.D., responded to data showing significantly low rates of younger, healthier, American enrollees. The report shows a trend that – over time – will cause the cost of health insurance to increase even more.

“Yet-again, the Obama administration couldn’t hit the mark and patients will be footing the bill,” said Gingrey. “The idea of relying on younger Americans to prop up Obamacare has been delusional ever since the law was shoved through Congress. This generation of young professionals is already faced with underemployment, record school debt, and less economic opportunity. They can’t be expected to overpay for coverage they don’t even need. The reality is that this law was always going to be a ‘train wreck,’ and was always going to cost more than President Obama promised.”
